What kind of trail do you want to leave?



The purpose of the NAMES program is to increase awareness and develop the following skills:


§  All participants gain a working understanding of diversity issues, the harm caused by prejudice and discrimination, and their own power to have an impact on others.


§  Participants have the opportunity to hear the perspectives of their classmates and teachers.  They also have the opportunity to be heard.


§  All participants contribute to assessment of the school environment and the development of realistic action steps that can be taken to address identified needs.


§  Student panelists learn valuable skills in essay writing and presentation.


§  Student and adult facilitators are trained by professional ADL facilitators to guide students in the exploration of diversity issues.


§  All participants have the opportunity to experience the success and empowerment of social action and good citizenship.
